President ASTAF Abdul Halim Kader of Singapore and Secretary General of the ISTAF met with Iran’s Minister of Sports and Youth, Mr. Kiomars Hashemi.
Abdul Halim Bin Kader praised Iran’s instrumental role in developing Sepaktakraw in Asia, acknowledging the country’s efforts and cooperation with international officials. He extended an invitation to the Minister to attend the closing ceremony of the world championships in Kuala Lumpur as a special guest.
Highlighting Iran’s influential position in global sports, Abdul Halim noted the country’s flexibility and progressive views, which have inspired many other nations to follow suit. He commended Iran’s focus on women’s sports, which has set an example for Muslim countries, with many now adopting Iranian sports clothing for their female athletes.
The meeting also explored possibilities for infrastructure development and sports facilities in Iran, with a proposal to establish a Sepaktakraw International Academy in the country.
This meeting marks a significant step forward in strengthening ties between Iran and the international Sepaktakraw community, paving the way for exciting collaborations and advancements in the sport.
